Book Reviews

Yes, I'm a bit of a dork but I feel its important to share my findings on books I have read.

The NaPro Technology Revolution: Unleashing the Power in a Woman's Cycle.
by Dr. Thomas W. Hilgers

I would recommend this to anyone who is skeptical of trying NaPro. Of course it is written by a Catholic doctor BUT it is NOT only for Catholics. As one of the reviewers on amazon said NaPro is one of the best kept secrets! I hope it catches on soon! Very informative but a little more medical based!! Absolutely fantastic information in this book! This method makes the most sense and research backs it up!!!

5 out of 5 stars hands down!!!!!!!!!

Is Your Body Baby-Friendly? : Unexplained Infertility, Miscarriage & IVF Failure - Explained
by Dr. Alan Beer

Fantastic book! I must warn it is VERY medical based and overwhelming! However, it has some excellent information in it for those experiencing IF, m/c, RPL, and IVF failure!

This is truly a 5 star book in my opinion!

If you don't feel comfortable with a lot of medical jargon, try reading one of the next 3 books:

Preventing Miscarriage: The Good News
by Jonathan Scher, MD & Carol Dix

This was one of the first books I read and it had a lot of good info in it as well. I'd give this 4 out of 5 stars.

==========================================================================

Miscarriage, Medicine & Miracles : Everything You Need to Know about Miscarriage
by Bruce Young, MD & Amy Zavatto

I read this on after my 4th m/c so a lot of the information I knew but I still consider this to be a good book that explains causes of miscarriage and gives statistics. Another 4 out of 5 stars book for me.

Avoiding Miscarriage: Everything You Need To Know To Feel More Confident In Pregnancy
by Susan Rousselot

I wasn't overly crazy about this book. I think more for the same reason I stated above because I knew the majority of information in this book and it wasn't anything new to me. I'd give this more of a 3 out of 5 stars.

Recurrent Pregnancy Loss: The Search for Answers, Testing and Grief Process
by Noelle Marin

A-W-F-U-L!!! Please do not waste your money on buying this book!!!! I was looking for something newly published and this came up. It has nothing more then I've found on the internet.

1 out of 5 stars.

Coming to Term: Uncovering the Truth About Miscarriage
by Jon Cohen

Eh, wasn't impressed with this book at all!! It could be at the time that I was looking more for answers than a man's story. Ha!

At best I would give this book 2 - 2 1/2 stars.

To Full Term: A Mother's Triumph Over Miscarriage
by Darci Klein

I really loved this book! The author is absolutely amazing and the journey that she has been through was inspiring! I rate this 5 out of 5 stars! Truly beautiful!!!

Marriages & Miscarriages: One Woman's Personal Experience
by Kathleen Smith

DO NOT WASTE $2.99 on this kindle edition "book". This was NOT helpful for me what.so.ever! Even the author admitted in this book that she was not an author and repeated herself over and over again. It was all about keeping the communication lines open between her husband & God. As much as I agree with her, its NOT worth reading since everyone grieves differently. I felt she also put down women who want to be pregnant and are jealous and bitter towards others because it is considered "coveting thy neighbor". Yes, I get that BUT this is not what a woman needs to hear when she is grieving the loss of a child.

1/2 star out of 5 stars.
